Our Mission

The Camel Calculator was designed with one simple objective in mind: to make people happy while also introducing them to a fascinating cultural heritage. Our calculator is a modern and entertaining spin on the ancient concept of determining a person's worth by their camel.

While the original practice was largely concerned with estimating bride prices in specific cultures, our calculator is solely intended for enjoyment. We've broadened the concept to include everyone, regardless of gender, and a variety of characteristics beyond traditional measurements.

How It Works

Our calculator employs a complex algorithm that takes into account more than 18 different criteria across four major categories: appearance, personality, abilities, and background. Each element is assessed independently, based on significant study and cultural considerations.

The method calculates a final result that represents your camel value. This figure can range from a few camels to hundreds, based on your specific qualities.

A multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and cultural experts developed the Camel Calculator with the goal of delivering compelling online experiences that transcend cultural divides and build understanding.

Why we built KamelCalc

We built KamelCalc for one simple reason: the internet needed a camel calculator that didn't look like it was thrown together in an afternoon. Ours combines the most detailed question set of any camel quiz (18 factors instead of the usual 6–8), a design we're actually proud of, and translations into five languages so the joke travels well.

Behind the silliness, we take a few things seriously. Privacy: your answers are processed entirely in your browser and never touch our servers. Respect: the quiz is a parody of an ancient idea, not a commentary on any culture or person — and we say so clearly on every relevant page.
